Meanwhile a spokesperson for the social network recently said they are investigating the situation. Meanwhile, the official Twitter account in Turkey has started to post updates on the situation.

The social network microblogging reminded that Turkish citizens can tweet still using text messages and published the numbers that Turkcell and Vodafone users can send their SMS as Qore .

On the other hand , the Turkish government has followed this case through an official website , which has been publishing information as the situation develops. According to this site , today , March 20 , the measure known as İstanbul Başsavcılığı Cumhuriyet , a ruling issued by a court of that country that apparently was the one who gave the green light to lock service was implemented .

And although so far only Twitter has been blocked , the prime minister also threatened to YouTube , since a considerable number of Turkish citizens recorded and released video messages expressing outrage and opinion regarding the corruption charges against him.

Note that this is not the first time the service Twitter is blocked in a country. Previously, access to the social network was blocked in Pakistan, in 2012, Egypt in 2011 , China in 2009 , and so on .
